Behind the Scenes
9-year-old Khyleigh Caillier is from Fort Polk, Louisiana. Khyleigh enjoys competing in pageants, hanging out with friends, playing softball, and doing community service. She has also hit over 15 home runs, won over 6 championship rings, and earned over 280 volunteer hours and has earned a gold medal from the president for doing so. Khyleigh wanted to spread kindness throughout her community and help those in need, so she founded her very own organization Spread Kindness Like Confetti, which is in the process of becoming a nonprofit organization. She was inspired by one of her pageant friends to make a little free pantry. This box of kindness is a pantry that contains non-perishable food items for those in need. The motto of the little free pantry is “Take what you need, Give what you can.” Khyeligh wanted to take the little free pantry parish wide, so she got into contact with the mayor of her town, and has also pitched the idea to the Leesville City Council. Khyleigh wanted to make a difference statewide, so as of this moment, these pantries have been approved and will be placed in the following parishes: Allen, Calcasieu, Acadiana and Vernon.
